VGN – Year in Review

It is January and that means we will take a look back on 2013 for Village Green Nurseries. We want to thank our wonderful customers who come to see us in both Norfolk and Norwood. As we take this time to reflect on 2013, we also are looking forward to what 2014 will mean to you.

Toward the end of 2013, we built a larger greenhouse in Norfolk. This gives you a larger indoor shopping area, as we housed our largest assortment of poinsettias for the Christmas season. In Norwood, we offered some of the largest assortments of colors and varieties of seasonal items throughout the year.  Take a look back on 2013 and we look forward to the 2014 season with you.

February – Valentine’s Day roses and mixed bouquets in our Norwood location.

March – Easter was early this year and March brought beautiful daffodils, tulips, lilies, and hydrangea in.

April – Pansies, hangers and lots of color arrived in the shop.

May – Hangers galore, as well as flowers, herbs and veggies for gardens. Beautiful color for Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. Green and flowering shrubs were also getting a lot of attention. Any of our staff can help you select the right shrubs and trees for your landscaping needs.

June – Gardens were in bloom. Flowering hangers continued to be our most popular items.

July – Patio pots and red, white and blue hangers were popular for Fourth of July.

August – Sunshine! Our sunny Norfolk location on the left and Norwood on the right.

September – Fall items rolled in, including cornstalks, hay bales, mumkins, pumpkins and lots of colorful mums.

October – Pumpkins were front and center. Our hand painted pumpkins were popular, along with white pumpkins, gourds and very large selection of pumpkins.

November – Winter and Christmas decor arrive.

December – Our large assortment of Christmas trees, poinsettias, center pieces, mantel pieces and swags are just some of the large variety we offered in December.
